Is owned and operated by the Espinosa family—Dallas, Texas transplants originally from Mexico City. At the center of Vainilla Azteca is the Espinosas’ passion for vanilla, the gorgeous land of the Huasteca Potosina, and most importantly, the people of the Husteca Potosina that dedicate their life to producing high quality Mexican vanilla to share with the entire world. For centuries, the Huastecans have committed to arduous work—from labor-intensive days in scathing heat to tend and harvest beans, to months of curing each bean individually. Truly, growing, harvesting, and processing vanilla beans is a science and art that demands utmost attention, precision, dedication, time, and love. The Espinosas are blessed with the opportunity to work with the Huastecan growers, learning the ancient methods of cultivating and curing Mexican vanilla beans firsthand.
Along the way, the Espinosas’ purpose has become ever more defined:
1. To invest in the people of the Huasteca Potosina so that their culture and families continue to blossom and thrive.
2. To provide top quality Mexican vanilla beans to the world.
3. To preserve and expand vanilla bean cultivation in Mexico.
4. To share the beauty of the Huasteca Potosina with the world.
